AIM
- To set up / reset a Gateway device to an Omnie Control Hub
- Enable a DHCP Reservation
- Enable a Port Forward for the Gateway Device
- Set up the Omnie App
ASSUMPTIONS
- You have a Hub1 and Gateway Device
- The Control Hub is wired up correctly
- The Gateway has power connected
- The Gateway is connected to your router via a CAT 5: Ethernet cable
- The Gateway is with 1-10 meters of the Control Hub (If you have low or intermittent wifi signal near your control hub, move the Gateway closer to the Control Hub)
- You have the Omnie App installed
TOP TIP: If your Gateway device is placed in another room from your Control Hub or behind a wall, this may cause there to be a weak signal between the devices. For best results your Gateway device should be between 1 and 3 meters from your Control Hub with a direct line of sight.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
1 x pen (to press the reset button on the Gateway)
WHAT TO DO
In this step we will reset the Control Hub and the Gateway device. After this we will pair them both together.
RESET DEVICE ID
Omnie ' O' -> Cogs -> General Params -> Advanced -> Remote Access -> Device id -> DELETE -> PRESS: OKSET INFO TX
Info tx -> SELECT: After modif -> TICKSET TYPE
Type -> SELECT: Wireless -> TICKRESET CONTROL HUB
You'll need to reset (disconnect and reconnect power to) the Control Hub for these settings to update. See fig. 1. To do this place four fingers on the top and your thumb on the bottom of the control hub and twist ant-clockwise (to the left). The device will turn - remove the green terminal block with the red and black wire, wait 10 seconds and then re-insert the green terminal block
TOP TIP: The screen will power back up and a loading screen will appear as seen in fig. 1

A Pop up will appear on the Control Hub for 'Remote Access Request' and a number will be present. Press the TICK to pair the device. See fig. 4

CHECK DEVICE ID
Omnie ' O' -> Cogs -> General Params -> Advanced -> Remote Access -> Device id -> PRESS: EXITTOP TIP: the device ID in this box should be the one that was requested in the pairing
Your Omnie Control Hub and Gateway device are now paired and communicating. We now need to make your App communicate with the Gateway device.
You must now access your router settings an reserve (DHCP Reservation) an internal IP address for your Gateway along with setting a port forwarding rule for the Gateway device on port 8080.
TOP TIP: There are many different routers from many different providers, so there isn't a set way to do this. Below we have provided some an example case for a virgin router and some instructions on how to find the information you'd require to set this stage up
